At Tea Culture of the World (TCW), we are very aware of our responsibility to uphold your privacy. We stand by the following simple promise:
WE WILL NEVER SHARE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, BE IT AN E-MAIL OR MAILING ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER OR NAME, WITH ANYONE. EVER! It really is as simple as that! Our web visitors may have many reasons to contact us – to ask questions, supply feedback, sign up for membership benefits and our newsletter, and of course to buy our gourmet tea.
Obviously, we need to store some of that information so that we can contact you again, just in the same way that your computer does with e-mail addresses. We are a friendly company and we like to chat with our customers and website visitors; we try to reply personally to all the messages we receive. Your personal information is securely stored and will always remain private.
We will send you an e-mail or call you only if there is a genuine need for us to do so – if you have a question pending, or there is query about your order, for example. We are strictly anti-spam – we do not and will never bombard anyone with e-mails or advertising for our products. We send our monthly newsletter notification e-mails only to those people who have specifically requested them, and if at any time you want to be removed from our mailing list, you can simply reply to the email stating your wish and we will remove your address immediately, no questions asked.
We take the issue of secure on-line ordering very seriously. Every time you send us your credit card number and your billing and shipping information, we use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to prevent the information from being intercepted. We also encrypt your credit card number when we store your order.
As with virtually all websites, our shopping cart technology will place a small ‘cookie’ on your computer when you add items to your cart. A cookie is a tiny amount of data sent to, or requested from, your computer. Cookies are used in order to keep track of your shopping cart. Without cookies, the online ordering system would not be able to associate your shopping cart with you, and you would not be able to carry more than one item in your cart at a time. The cookie is NOT spy ware or ad ware or anything even remotely sinister, and it does not collect any information from you that is ever used for purposes other than described above.
TCW recognizes the sensitivity of Personal Information concerning children under the age of 13 and therefore provides this notice. TCW is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations regarding children, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), which does not allow the collection of any Personal Information from anyone under the age of 13 without a parent’s or guardian’s consent. TCW encourages all parents and guardians to instruct their children in the safe and responsible use of their Personal Information while using the Internet.
Therefore, in compliance with COPPA, the site is not directed to children under the age of 13. Moreover, TCW does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, do not send any information about yourself. When TCW becomes aware that personally identifiable information from a child under 13 has been collected without such child’s parent’s or guardian’s consent, we will use all reasonable e orts to delete such information from our database.
Sometimes we send offers to selected groups of TCW customers on behalf of other businesses. When we do this, we do not give that business your name and address. If you do not want to receive such offers, please adjust your Customer Communication Preferences.
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy stores, subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Notice (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise). Also, in the unlikely event that TCW or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.
We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of TCW TEA PVT LTD, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. Obviously, however, this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Notice.
Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
